The West Buncombe Fire Department was organized over 50 years ago in 1959. We are located at 549 Old County Home Road, Asheville, NC. We serve a population of about 17,500 citizens in a 26 square mile area near the west Asheville area.
We are a combination department with paid and volunteer staff. We currently have 13 full-time employees, 9 part-time employees, and 22 volunteers.
